Spring has sprung which means you’ll be taking more drives and enjoying the newness of the season. Of course, you’ll want to make sure your vehicle is in good shape for the scenic drives. This checklist is a good start to making sure your car, truck or van is ready.

    1. Remove your winter tires or rotate all season radials: If you have winter tires, it’s finally time to take them off and store them for next winter. For all season radials, it’s a good time to get them rotated.
    2. Check and replace wiper blades: The winter tends to be harsh on wiper blades and you don’t want to get caught in a Spring rain without them working their best. Remember the saying, “April showers bring May flowers.”
    3. Brake check: It’s always important to make sure your vehicle’s brakes are working properly. Some warning signs to look for include brake noise like squealing or scraping. Of course whenever your vehicle is serviced at Country Road Automotive, your brakes are always checked during our courtesy inspection.
    4. Clean the underbody: Salt build-up can lead to erosion and rusting so you want to make sure you rinse your vehicle’s underbody and underneath the rear and front bumpers.
    5. Apply a protectant: Vinyl and leather surfaces should be protected from sun damage and fading so be sure to apply a protectant at the beginning of the season.
    6. Change the oil: Preventative maintenance is the best way to keep your car, truck or van running for years. With every oil change done at Country Road Automotive, we also complete a courtesy safety inspection.
    7. Check all fluids: Fluids should be checked regularly, but it’s especially important after the winter months as fluids are quickly depleted during the winter months.
    8. Wash your car: Just like a good maintenance program helps prolong the life of your car, regular washing will keep the exterior of your vehicle looking it’s best.
